Light painting is a photographic technique that involves the movement of light while the shutter is open. You should have your camera on long shutter speed, preferably 30 seconds. When the camera has taken the photo, you should have a really unusual and magical photo. You would need a strong and sturdy tripod since you don't want any shake on the beautiful line of light.
When I attempted to do light painting I put my camera on the settings of 30seconds, with an ISO of 200 at f22, which is the highest aperture that the lens I was using could go to. I may have put my shutter speed on for too long because in some of my photos you can see the ceiling. So If I put my camera on a shutter speed of 15-20 seconds then maybe the ceiling would be black.
In my opinion I think I got a good collection of light painting photos and I would love to do this again.
